In the Men’s pro final, two of New Smyrna’s top shredders Jeremy Johnston and Nils Schweizer were accompanied by Newport Beach’s top guitarist Andrew Doheny and Melbourne’s Kyle Garson. Andrew, who had been ripping all week as if it were Lowers seemed out of sync in the final and left VB with a respectable 4th place finish.

Nils Schweizer was on the bad end of an interference call and settled with 3rd place for the second year in a row. Kyle Garson was ripping all week and finished out the event in a solid 2nd place. Jeremy Johnston, who surfed his way all the way through the trials to title, came out of the gates flying and never looked back, taking out his first ECSC crown. His first major win in a while, Jeremy had this to say after the victory:

“I am super pumped to finally win this event after all the years of coming, such a fun event and cant wait to get back next year!”

These days, it’s probably useless to formerly introduce them to you since their videos were pretty visible and widespread all through last winter. Their unique videos are pushing wake riding far away from the beaten paths (or lakes)…

Last November, they told me they wanted to come take part in these two contests.

It was easy for us at Unleashed to get in touch with Koen Vrints, the European Slingshot distributor and hand in hand we were able to organize a 3 week road trip through the South of France in search of the best winch spots…After putting a few things in place with Jeff McKee, the trip became a reality and Andrew Adams, Davis Griffin, Chris Abadie, Brian Reeder and Nate Perry arrived in the beautiful city of Toulouse on Wednesday morning.

As soon as they got there, the least bit tire from the trip, they enjoyed a little session at the TNS wake park. It was a nice warm up before heading off for a taste of Alex and Dge Ruffrays hospitality and a traditional French homemade meal.

A real treat! Thanks again to both of them for their hospitality and to the Chivas god for the whiskey…

For those of you that picture Russia as a frozen place full of old women with scarves around their heads, think differently. Darin described Moscow as a city like New York, full of energy and partying, along with 24-hour traffic…. “Russian women know how to celebrate summer,” Darin said referring to the way women show more skin, in exchange for their heavy winter clothing during the warm months.

Darin competed in and won 2 World Cup Events in Moscow Russia. He competed in the Pro Mens Wakeboard and Pro Mens Wakesurf. Despite the fact that the Judges were sipping Vodka on the boat while they were judging the wakesurf event, Mr. Shapiro managed to take home 2 gold metals and over $10k in prize money.

In running order, the final heat consisted of Nick Galotifiore, Adam Fields, Bob Soven, Adam Errington and Danny Harf. Nick led off with a Cab 540, then Adam Fields came off the dock and set the bar with a huge Pete 5 and a gigantic S Bend. Then in true BROstock and all-or-nothing fashion Bob Soven went out and attempted three 1080’s going down on all three, but the size and commitment was evident. Adam Errington up next stomped a 900 on his first hit then went 0 for 2 trying for a 1080.

Finally Danny Harf went out as the sun began fade and fell on his first double up, landed his second but the boat was slow and he was offered a re-ride, on his re-ride he fell again, raising the tension on the dock and even leaving many fans believing that Adam Fields had clinched the $13,000 first place purse. Then the boat notified the dock that Danny had one more chance. As he has done at so many events, Danny excels in a pressure filled, all-or-nothing situation and he came back with a perfect toeside backside 720 sending the crowd into a frenzy and winning BROstock 2010.

As all of the athletes backed up their runs with beer bongs with their BROS we put the cap on the best BROstock ever.
